Huh, that’s an unintended side effect of releasing the magic I hadn’t considered: No way to restrict weapons. I wonder if that’s something the elves taught the humans…
Hard to say, but I’d wager that whatever the elves did teach the humans, it wasn’t nearly as much as the humans would’ve liked. 😉
…though that said, human ingenuity can get them pretty far, as we’ve seen.
